Disclaimer

Last updated: July 2026

Healthy Boulder Kids exists to help parents make better everyday food and health decisions for their kids. That work comes with limits, and this page spells them out plainly. Please read it before acting on anything you find on this site.

Medical & Nutrition Disclaimer

Everything on this site is general information and education — it is not medical advice, nutritional therapy, or a diagnosis of any kind. I’m a mom who reads the research carefully; I am not a doctor, pediatrician, registered dietitian, or licensed health professional.

Children are not small adults. Nutritional needs, supplement dosing, and health risks vary enormously by age, weight, medical history, allergies, and medications. Before you change your child’s diet, start or stop any supplement, or act on anything you read here, talk to your pediatrician or a registered dietitian who actually knows your child. Never delay or ignore professional medical advice because of something you read on this site.

If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

No Professional Relationship

Reading this site, commenting, or contacting me does not create a doctor–patient, dietitian–client, or any other professional relationship between us. I share what I’ve learned as a parent doing the homework — nothing more.

Results Not Guaranteed

Every child and every family is different. Strategies, products, or routines that worked in the studies I cite — or in my own kitchen — may not work for your child. I make no promises about specific health outcomes, behavior changes, or results of any kind.

Use at Your Own Risk

Any action you take based on the information on this site is strictly at your own risk. Healthy Boulder Kids and its owner will not be liable for any losses, injuries, or damages connected to the use of this website or the information on it.

This site links to outside websites — research sources, official health organizations, and retailers. I don’t control those sites and am not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything a site publishes. How your data is handled on this site is covered separately in the Privacy Policy linked below.

About the Site Name

“Healthy Boulder Kids” was the name of a 2016 Boulder, Colorado ballot campaign around a sugar-sweetened beverage tax. This website is an independent parenting resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the original 2016 campaign organization or its members. A few archived pages about that campaign remain on this site for historical reference.
